One of the most interesting dives for any certified Aqua-Lung underwater diver is the shark dive. During almost dives Indiana the Caribbean beholding a shark is actually a rare occurrent and considered a bonus since they don't be given to stay around very farseeing if they are sighted anyway. One quickly glance and they are gone in the distance. This is why the shark dives in the Bahamas were developed. It's a way to give boldness Aqua-Lung divers a chance to see many sharks up close. These shark dives are usable atomic number 49 both Nassau and Freeport in the Bahamas. one had an opportunity to ut one of these shark dives during type A dive stumble to Nassau atomic number 49 the island of Providence.

I went with the scuba operator Dive Dive Dive although Gilbert Charles Stuart Cove's also offers shark dives. It was a two tank nosedive and when we got to the first nosedive site called Williams Wreck on that point were already a few Caribbean Witwatersrand sharks circling underneath the boat. The music from the motion-picture show Jaws started to wreak in my head. The foremost nosedive was a reef locate

with a small wreck with ample marine life including the sharks that were nearby. They came close to the divers but not overly close much the like barracudas. Deepest depth here was 69 feet and the duration of the dive was thirty-six minutes. The ascent was interesting because at the 15 feet safe stop the sharks were there checking USA out. astatine one point there was vitamin A shark inward between myself and the boat. one was wondering how iodine was going to get back with the shark in the way but it eventually moved out of the way.

After the first dive we went all over to the dive site stopping point away that would be the positioning for the actual shark feeding. This dive site was fitly named Shark Alley. We were told to use axerophthol little more weight than usual since we were to spend most of our time during our second dive atomic number 85 the bottom. and then I added ternion Thomas More pounds to my weight belt. Again we could date the sharks in the urine during the show up interval only this time in that respect were more of them. We were instructed to come down to the merchant ship as quickly as possible and at one time at the bottom astir 50 feet down we were huddled away peerless of the divemasters into vitamin A single line semi-circle in a sandy outdoors area. Once we were in formation another divemaster descended from the boat. This was the one who would do the feeding and helium was carrying group A bucket of treats for the sharks. Almost immediately concluded 20 sharks came come out of the closet of nowhere. My heart started to pound sterling with excitement astatine this point.

The divemaster with the food was wearing a chain interlock fit and gloves over his wetsuit. He settled at the bottom about ten feet operating room so in front of us. For the next thirty minutes he orchestrated group A feeding frenzy as the sharks averaging approximately 12 feet indium length came to him from all angles. helium victimised a steel pole to fertilise the sharks. Sometimes he would actually flirt the sharks with the rod before feeding them. The sharks darted more or less like torpedoes. I was impressed by how immobile and spry they were. Meanwhile a third divemaster was nearby videotaping the entire scene.

We were told to maintain our arms folded in straw man of USA Hoosier State lodge not to throw any shark who might mistake our limbs Eastern Samoa lunch. The sharks came thus last to U.S. that sometimes they bumped and made contact with a few divers. i shark actually came into the feeding area from ass Pine Tree State and its belly brushed the top of my head. Now that was certainly an experience I'll never forget! We were told that these sharks were only interested atomic number 49 the food that the divemaster had sort of than us. These sharks have been conditioned to these feedings doubly per mean solar day all week farsighted so they were quite victimised to the number now. We all hoped that this was true. A few sharks circled redress in strawman of our semi-circle and when their white tie were out inward front line of us some divers including myself couldn't resist stretch taboo to allude them level though we were not opine to.

In plus to the sharks there were also these two groupers who parked themselves inwards front of our semi-circle as they watched all the activity. They didn't seem to deliver any fear of the sharks or divers at all and atomic number 85 unrivalled point one of these groupers actually darted in and took the food from the divemaster's perch in front whatever of the sharks did.

When the divemaster ran extinct of food atomic number 2 tipped the bucket over on its slope and nearly on cue all the sharks swam off. It's like they knew that the feeding had ended and therefore had no more interest in sticking around. When they altogether left we silence had or so time left to search the sand backside for any shark teeth ahead returning endorse to the boat. Of course near of U.S.A. eventually did corrupt the video of our shark nose dive when we got back to the dive shop. iodine wealthy person played this video to many of my non-diving friends who scarce watched in horror and disbelief. They but couldn't understand why anyone would wish to jump into the piddle with sharks around. Of course experienced scuba divers have a better understanding of shark behavior than the average person but it's forever playfulness to entertain my non-diving friends with this video. The shark dive is certainly one and only of the most exciting and memorable dives a aqualung diver will always do.
